Biography
Ayatollah
Shahroudi was born in Najaf in 1925. He was taught the preliminary the
lessons of the seminary studies by his father, the late Shaykh Ali
Al-Shahrbabaki. He also studies some of his preliminary lessons under
the late Shaykh Shams Al-Zanjaani. He learned seminary textbooks such
as Al-Rasaa'il and Al-Makaasib from his father, and the book Kifaayat
(Usool) from the late Ayatollah Uzma Agha Mirza Haashim Aamuli and the
late Ayatullah Shaykh Abdul Husayn Rashti. In 1941, at the age of sixteen, he began attending
advance level seminary studies. In those studies he benefited from
Ayatullah Uzma Hajj Sayyid Mahmoud Shahroudi and his father. Since
1963, he has been delivering lectures in the Islamic Seminary of Qom.
